The Women's Ninja Association scores every competition the same way: athletes earn a place on each course, and the places are added up. Here is how it works at the qualifiers and at the Championship Finals, from WNA's Season 2 rulebook.
Two courses at every qualifier
- Speed Course: one timed run. Athletes are ranked by the furthest obstacle completed, then the fastest time. After a fail they score no more points, but may keep going until time runs out.
- Tech Course: up to three attempts per obstacle, with the clock paused during resets, so retries don't count against the athlete. After three fails on one obstacle, no more points. Ranked by the furthest obstacle, then time.
The run order is randomized and stays the same on both courses.
Adding up the places
Each athlete's places on the two courses are added together, and the lowest total wins. For example, 1st on Speed plus 3rd on Tech is 4 points, which beats 2nd plus 3rd (5 points). If two athletes tie, the better Tech Course place wins.
Qualifying for the Championship Finals
- The top three in each division at each qualifier earn a Finals spot.
- In Season 2, the top female in each division at the Barbados Ninja Throwdown 2026 special qualifier also earned a spot.
- If an athlete has already qualified, the spot rolls down to the next eligible athlete until every spot is filled.
- WNA may cap or adjust Finals field sizes to keep the event on schedule.
Season 2 has five qualifiers and the Championship Finals at Dexterity Depot in Pennsylvania, April 16–18, 2027. See the events page for dates and registration.
Three courses at the Finals
- Speed and Tech: every qualified athlete runs both, in the same format as the qualifiers.
- Endurance Course: the top eight in each division after Speed and Tech go on. One attempt per obstacle, with an extended time limit for rest and strategy. A fail ends the run.
- Finals scoring: places on all three courses are added up and the lowest total wins (1st + 2nd + 3rd = 6). Ties go to the better Endurance Course place.
Judging
Judges have final authority on every completion and fail, and the Course Director is the lead judge at every event. Sportsmanship is expected from athletes, coaches, parents and spectators; unsportsmanlike conduct can mean penalties or disqualification.
The full details are in the rules and the Season 2 rulebook, and every division's places are on the Results page.
